Safaricom has switched on 5G services in twelve additional counties, extending high-speed coverage to major towns including Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu and Mombasa.
The company says the rollout is part of a multi-billion shilling investment in network infrastructure over the next three years.
Customers with compatible devices will automatically connect to the faster network, with 5G home internet packages also launching in the new regions.
Competitors are expected to accelerate their own rollouts in response.
