Nairobi Expressway Expansion Set to Begin Next Quarter, Government Confirms
The 27-kilometre extension will connect Mlolongo to Athi River, easing congestion on one of the country's busiest corridors.

The Ministry of Roads and Transport has confirmed that construction on the second phase of the Nairobi Expressway will commence next quarter, following the conclusion of financing arrangements with international partners.
The extension is expected to create over 5,000 direct jobs during the construction period and significantly cut travel time for commuters between the capital and Machakos County.
"This is a project that speaks to our commitment to modern infrastructure that serves every Kenyan," the Cabinet Secretary said during a press briefing in Nairobi.
Motorists have welcomed the announcement, though some residents along the corridor have raised concerns about compensation for land acquisition. The ministry says a resettlement action plan is already in place.
