County Governments Receive Delayed Disbursements After Treasury Deal

The Council of Governors has suspended a planned shutdown of county services after the National Treasury released long-delayed disbursements to the devolved units.

The funds, covering two months of arrears, will go towards salaries and stalled development projects.

Governors have however demanded a permanent solution to the recurring delays, proposing a constitutional amendment to guarantee timely transfers.
