African Union Summit Opens in Addis Ababa With Focus on Trade

Leaders from across the continent have convened in Addis Ababa for the African Union summit, with the African Continental Free Trade Area topping the agenda.

Delegates are expected to sign protocols on digital trade and the movement of persons, seen as critical to unlocking intra-African commerce.

Kenya's delegation is pushing for harmonised customs procedures along the Northern Corridor.

The summit concludes on Sunday with a joint communique.
